How it all began......

I developed a love for running this summer. My friend Lacey talked me into doing a
5K in June for Art city days in Springville. I was very hesistant but 3 days before the run we signed up and went. No prior training or anything. We ran/walked and came in around 41 min. Not so impressive, but that was the first race of any sort I have done since my junior year of high school. I ran cross country and hated every minute of it, But it was different for some reason this time.We decided we were gunna start running every morning at 6. It was hard and we walked alot of the way for the first couple of weeks, but halfway through the month we got better and it wasn't so bad. My achy joints finally got used to it. My knees and ankles killed for the first few weeks, but we did great the month of June never missed a morning. July got crazy for Lacey so I kept going solo. I LOVED it!!! I just stuck my earbuds in and would run between 3-4 miles every other day.It was so thereaputic.I have ran on my treadmill off and on and tolerated it,but I really enjoyed running outdoors. Something about the cool crisp summer mornings and seeing the sunshine made all my worries and stresses disappear for awhile.I started mixing it up a bit in July.I went to a spin class Tues & Thurs at 6:30 and then ran the rest of the week except Sun. I felt great. So I ran another 5K on the 24th and came in at 31 min, improvement I was pleased with and then I ran my final 5K for the summer 2 weeks later and came in at 30 min. Now that it is colder and darker in the mornings I have let myself slip out of the habit, and I really miss it, so I am determined to figure out a way to get myself going again. So if any of you are trying to decide..I would highly reccomend it.It's a great way to get in shape!!!
